March 2017 – News & Dates

Brothers,

Thanks to all who attended our Extra Meetings in February.  We also want to once again congratulate our newly raised Brothers.

At our March Stated Meeting, we will exemplify the Examination of a Visitor. Brothers who are planning on visiting other Lodges but are not familiar with this process, this is an excellent opportunity to learn what may be required of you.  We have also invited the Rainbow Girls to perform their Ribbon Ceremony after our Stated Meeting.  For those brothers who know of a young lady that is interested in becoming involved with Rainbow, this is a good opportunity to gather information.  Dinner is served prior to the stated meeting at 6:30pm (cost $5) and our meeting at 7:30pm.

We have an Extra Meeting this month on Wednesday, March 15th at 7:30pm when we will confer 2 Master Mason degrees.  Please come and support our Brothers.

On April 14th we will hold our second annual Table Lodge at Prospect Masonic Temple.  Our Stated Meeting begins at 7:00pm that evening (1/2 hour earlier than usual).  After our Stated Meeting, we will retire downstairs to the banquet hall for a nice meal and Masonic Toasts. The cost for attending is $35.  Please let David Zimmerman, JW, know if you plan to attend. Bro. David will also be collecting the money for it.  You can register for the Table Lodge online by clicking here.

For all this information and more, be sure to check out March Lodge Notice.  Please contact our Secretary at SECY0711@pagrandlodge.org if you need the password to read it. Our Lodge Calendar is also available online so be sure to bookmark that in your browsers.

December News & Dates

Brothers,

For the second year in a row, the presumed slate of officers for our lodge includes a first-time Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, and Junior Warden.  We are very fortunate to have dedicated brothers who are enthusiastic about serving our lodge and have put in the work to get certified for these roles.  Please join me in supporting these brothers by attending our December Stated Meeting on Friday, December 9th at 7:30pm for the election and installation of officers for the ensuing masonic year.  As with recent meetings, dinner will be served at 6:30pm for $5/person.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all you’ve done for our lodge and for the support you’ve given me throughout the year.  It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Worshipful Master and I thank you for the opportunity.  I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished – new members welcomed, events hosted, new ideas attempted, and progress made.  The future of our lodge is bright and with your support, we will only continue to improve.

For all this information and more, be sure to check out our December Lodge Notice.  Please contact our Secretary at SECY0711@pagrandlodge.org if you need the password to read it.  Our Lodge Calendar is also available online so be sure to bookmark that in your browsers.

I wish you, your friends, and families the happiest of holidays.  Hope to see you in lodge again soon!

Sincerely & Fraternally,
Joshua J. Nay, WM

November News & Dates

Brothers,

Our next Stated Meeting will be held, as usual, on the 2nd Friday of the month, November 11th.  This year it happens to fall on Veterans Day which could not be more appropriate.  During our meeting, we will have a ceremony to recognize our Veterans and thank them for their service.  We will also welcome a speaker from the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association who will share information about the memorial.  As is customary for November, we will also host an official visit of our District Deputy Grand Master and officers of lodges in the 36th District.  Dinner is at 6:30pm at a cost of $5/person and the meeting begins at 7:30pm.
Please also join us for our Extra Meeting on Wednesday, November 30th when we will confer one Master Mason Degree and one Entered Apprentice Mason Degree.
By now, you’ve likely heard that we had to replace the heater for our building. While we had some money saved for just such a need, our funds are now significantly reduced. I hope you will join me in making a gift to the lodge in support of this critical project. Any amount helps. Thank you in advance for lending a helping hand in our time of need!
For all this information and more, be sure to check out our November Lodge Notice.  Please contact our Secretary at SECY0711@pagrandlodge.org if you need the password to read it.  Our Lodge Calendar is also available online so be sure to bookmark that in your browsers.
If I don’t see you before the holiday, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family.
Fraternally,
Joshua J. Nay, WM

Calling Back On To Labor!

Brothers,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer and stayed cool during the last two months.  Amazingly, September is almost here and it’s time to call our lodge back on to labor.  Please mark your calendars for our Stated Meeting on Friday the 9th at 7:30pm.  I’m excited to share that dinner will be served BEFORE the stated meeting, beginning at 6:30pm.  If you plan to join us for dinner, please let the Secretary or I know so we can plan accordingly.  During the meeting, we will celebrate our Past Masters in recognition of their service to our lodge.  For those Past Masters planning to attend, please let our Secretary know so that we will be prepared to recognize you.  Finally, we will also be joined that evening by the Chester Pike Chapter of DeMolay who will perform their Rose Ceremony.  It should be a wonderful evening and I hope you will join us.

Note that we have an Extra Meeting scheduled on Wednesday, September 14th when we will confer two Entered Apprentice Mason degrees.  Our lodge is very fortunate to have many new members join this year and become active.  Please join us on the 14th to welcome two new brothers to our lodge!

Fraternally & Sincerely,

June News & Dates

Brothers,

We have lots going on in June!   Things kick off with our Stated Meeting on Friday, June 10th when we will present 25 Year Pins, celebrate Father & Son Night, present a Lewis Jewel, and enjoy Strawberry Night.  In addition,  Bro. Nicholas Mahler of the Masonic Villages will join us to share information about the various locations, requirements to become a resident, and available amenities.

The following morning, Saturday, June 11th, we will gather at the lodge for our Spring Clean-Up Day from 9am until approximately 1pm.  Please join us to help clean the lodge, remove trash, and improve our building and property.

Our last event of the month is our Lodge Family Picnic on Saturday, June 25th, from 12-4pm at Hoffman Park in Lansdowne (228 Scottdale Road).  Members and their families are encouraged to attend!  Bring your own food (and maybe a little extra to share).  There will be a grill on-site for our use.  No alcohol permitted.

We look forward to having you join us for these meetings and events!

Sincerely & Fraternally,

Josh Nay, WM

May News & Dates

Brothers,
We have a few nights in May you should mark on your calendars.  First, our stated meeting will be on Friday, May 13th at 7:30pm.  Bro. Ray Greene, our Senior Warden, is presenting about a very interesting topic – Sacred Geometry. We will also be honoring our area’s First Responders including Firemen Policemen, EMS, Paramedics, and more. Letters have been sent to local departments, asking their members to attend. If you are a First Responder, please join us to be recognized and bring others from your department with you. They don’t have to be masons! All are welcome.

Please also plan to join us for our TWO extra meetings in May, on the 18th and 25th. We are fortunate to have a number of men petitioning our lodge but that means we need brothers to attend and help at extra meetings when we confer degrees.  Join us on the 18th and 25th and support the lodge and our newest members.
Finally, we will be participating as a lodge in Lansdowne’s Memorial Day Parade on May 30th beginning at 8:45am.  The dress code is the same as a lodge meeting.  Help us represent the lodge and show our local community who the masons are.

We look forward to seeing you in lodge soon!
Fraternally,
Josh Nay, WM
