April News & Dates

Our next stated meeting will be on Friday, April 8th beginning at 7:00pm and will be held at Prospect Masonic Temple, 822 Lincoln Ave (Rte 420), Prospect Park, PA.  Please note the location and start time are different from our usual meetings.
You do not want to miss this meeting and Table Lodge!  After a brief stated meeting (beginning at 7:00pm), we will have a Table Lodge in the banquet hall at Prospect Masonic Temple.  Table Lodges are one of the oldest known masonic traditions and include a feast, ceremonial toasts, and the sharing of fellowship.  In short, it is an opportunity to “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!”

Our Table Lodge will be tiled and opened on the degree of Entered Apprentice so all brothers can attend. The cost is $25 per person which includes a buffet dinner, refreshments, and a souvenir glass.  Wine and grape juice will be provided for the ceremonial toasts.  See our Junior Warden, Bro. Ed Simcox, to make your payment.  The registration deadline is Friday, April 1st and can be done in person, by phone, or online at

We also have an Extra Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 13th beginning at 7:30pm when we will confer one Fellow Craft Mason degree and one Entered Apprentice Mason degree.  Please come out to welcome a new brother and support our soon-to-be Fellow Craft brother.
Finally, we have another Dinner Night Out Fundraiser at Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant (965 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA 19064) on Wednesday, April 27th.  Our lodge will get 15% of all take out and dine in orders between 12pm-11pm as long as you present one of our flyers when paying.  Be sure to get a flyer at an upcoming stated meeting, extra meeting, or practice night!
Mark your calendars for our stated meeting and Table Lodge on April 8th, extra meeting on April 13th, and Dinner Night Out Fundraiser at Bertucci’s on April 27th.  Be sure to check our April Lodge Notice for additional information.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
Josh Nay, WM

March News & Dates

Our next stated meeting will be on Friday, March 11th beginning at 7:30pm.  The theme for the evening is, “The Traveling Man” and you don’t want to miss it.
First, we will demonstrate how to examine a visitor and ensure they are a recognized mason.  If you want to travel to another lodge in Pennsylvania, another state, or even another country and prove you’re a mason, you should come to lodge and learn what’s involved.
We will also be welcoming visiting brothers who are, or have been, members of lodges operating under the Grand Lodges of Delaware, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.  These brethren will serve as panelists as we discuss similarities and differences between our various masonic jurisdictions.  I wholeheartedly encourage you to join us at lodge to learn how freemasonry is practiced elsewhere as well as how unique Pennsylvania Freemasonry is!
We also have an Extra Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 23rd beginning at 7:30pm when we will confer two Master Mason degrees.  The brothers receiving these degrees are quickly becoming familiar faces around our lodge.  Please come out to support them as they take this significant step in their masonic careers.
Mark your calendars for our stated meeting on March 11th and extra meeting on March 23rd.  Be sure to check our March Lodge Notice for additional information.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
Josh Nay, WM

February News & Dates

Please mark two dates on your calendars this month!

The first is our February stated meeting on Friday, February 12th.  Our meeting will include a “Rusty Mason’s Night” where we will review some masonic etiquette and education important to all members.  If you haven’t been out to lodge in some time and perhaps forgot the grips, signs, or other important aspects, this evening is for you.  We are also fortunate to have a representative from the Pennsylvania Masonic Villages joining us for the evening.  If you or your family members have considered residing at one of the Masonic Villages, come out to get your questions answered and learn more.

The second date to be aware of is our Extra Meeting on Wednesday, February 17th.  We will be conferring two Fellowcraft Mason degrees and one Entered Apprentice degree that evening beginning at 7:30pm.  Please join us that evening to support our newest brothers as they progress on their masonic journeys.

Read about these events and more in our February lodge notice by clicking here.  We look forward to seeing you in lodge with us again soon!

News & Dates for January 2016

The beginning of a new masonic year at Lansdowne Lodge brings with it lots of excitement and opportunity.  It looks like we will have a year full of gatherings and events and hopefully you will be joining us for many of them!

Things kick off early in January with our stated meeting on Friday, January 8th at 7:30pm.  The plan for the evening is to introduce our new officers, review plans for the year, and welcome a speaker on local Boy Scouting.

On Wednesday, January 13th, beginning at 7:30pm, we will confer two Entered Apprentice degrees on worthy candidates.

Both events are listed in our January Lodge Notice, available here.  Please make plans to join us and enjoy masonic education and fellowship with your brothers.

December Stated Meeting and Notice

Friday the 11th of December is our final Stated meeting of 2015 and it will also be the election and installation of officers for 2016.

The incoming WM and Wardens are not Past Masters and have worked very hard to qualify to serve in these positions. We hope to see many of you attending the meeting to show that it’s important to you that these men have worked to serve our Lodge and to keep it going.  We are asking for as many PMs as possible to attend to assist with the installation of the new Worshipful Master.

Remember, if you have not done so, please pay your dues. If you have already paid yours, thank you!

Also, in an effort to support our local communities and be men of benevolence and charity, we are collecting food for donations to local food banks.  Please consider bringing canned or shelf-stable foods to lodge for our stated meeting on December 11th. We hope to make a big difference for those in need during this holiday season.

October was a busy month for the lodge but we still have some good stuff planned for November.

At our stated meeting on November 13th, we will celebrate Veterans Night and welcome the District Deputy Grand Master and officers of the 36th District.

The following Wednesday, November 18th, we have a Fundraiser Night at The Sweet Taco in Springfield.  Our lodge gets 20% of the sales between 5:30-8:30pm from those who show our flyer at the register.  Come out for good food, fellowship, and to support the lodge!  Click here for the flyer.

Of course, we still have our usual Practice & Instruction Nights on Wednesdays at 7:30pm.  Come out to enjoy some fellowship and learn or practice our ritual work.
